Entering early 2024, farmers are faced with the phenomenon of increasing poultry feed prices that soar with varying quality. Based on records from the National Food Agency, corn is one of the commodities that has increased above 10 percent from the highest retail price (HET) or sales reference price (HAP). This causes losses, such as for small farmers because the selling price of chickens and eggs is not proportional to the cost of goods produced incurred.
This triggered Medion to provide education and strategies to deal with the surge in poultry feed prices through the 42nd Mimbar Trobos with the topic “Optimization of Poultry Feed Nutrition”. Held on Monday, 29th January, 2024 via Youtube and Zoom Live Streaming. Presenting Imam Wahyudi, S.Pt (Technical Education & Consultation Medion) as a speaker.
The topic raised is closely related to the current condition of breeders so it is not surprising that many participants participated in this seminar. This is evident from the number of participants who reached more than 200 people. In addition, the participants actively participated in the question and answer session.
In the presentation of the material by Imam Wahyudi, it was conveyed that the trend of nutritional quality of corn as poultry feed, there are still many that are not up to standard. Especially low metabolic energy content. The key to optimizing nutrition is supported by the quality of raw materials, the right formulation, and maintained digestive tract health. One of them is by using alternative raw materials added Prozyme, Freetox G and Optigrin to optimize nutrition. When using alternative raw materials, it is necessary to pay attention to:
- – Learn the details of alternative raw materials to be used
- – The formulation must be balanced
- – Gradual use/application
- – Given to chickens that have passed the peak first
- – Incorporation of several alternative materials
- – Monitoring and evaluation
It is hoped that Medion’s educational contribution can help farmers in facing current conditions. In addition, farmers can also provide this information to many people so that added value is realized for all stakeholders.
