Every day, we use or at least come into contact with paper. Without realizing it, our wasteful behavior is actually contributing to the rate of (deforestation). According to Putungsewu Wildlife Education Center, every 15 reams of A4-size paper will cut down 1 tree. Every 7000 copies of newspapers that we read every day will consume 10-17 forest trees. Imagine, in one day there are millions of sheets of paper used by Indonesians, and this means that millions of forest trees are cut down to meet that need.

So what can we do to help save Indonesia's forests, which cover 120 million ha? If we are just 'ordinary people' who don't have the political power and policies that can change things systemically, we can turn into extraordinary people by implementing forest-friendly behaviors. For example, by saving the use of paper, because about 70% of paper material is forest wood.
Check out these paper-saving tips below:
Use used paper

Avoid rushing to throw away used paper, look again whether the used paper has an empty side or not. Use the blank side of the paper to write your drafts or memo notes. You can also staple the used paper for a notebook.).
Maximize email

For correspondence that is not too important and does not need physical evidence in the form of printed letters, just use email. Using email will save paper and also costs, because you don't need to pay postal fees for sending letters. Invitations to discussions or seminars are also more effective and economical if you use email.
