Origins of World Fruit Day Celebrations

July 1 is celebrated as World Fruit Day every year. The first fruit day was held in Berlin, Germany in 2007. The celebration originally aimed to share fruits and vegetables with others in a meal as a form of solidarity.

This year, the fruit of the year is the mandarin or tangerine. This fruit was chosen as the winner fruit of the year based on the results of a poll. There were 10 fruits randomly selected for the poll. The aim was to prevent the same fruit from being chosen again. The poll was conducted through social media and the fruit fairs Logistica in Berlin and BioFach in Nuremberg.

The high vitamin C content in mandarin oranges can keep your skin healthy and prevent wrinkles and dryness. Vitamin C can help form collagen for skin health and firmness, protecting it from the effects of UV rays. In addition, eating fruit is also recommended to maintain health and immunity, especially during the coronavirus pandemic.

Apart from being eaten directly, mandarin oranges are also often processed into delicious dishes that can accompany various categories of dishes ranging from main menus to desserts. Examples include mandarin orange juice, mandarin orange pudding and mandarin orange layer cake.
