On November 21th, 2022 at 13.21 WIB, an earthquake with a magnitude of 5.6 and a depth of 10 kilometers struck Cianjur Regency, West Java. This shallow crustal tectonic type earthquake is thought to be the result of a shift in the Cimandiri Fault. Until Saturday (26th November, 2022) at 06.00 WIB, the Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) had recorded 259 aftershocks with a maximum magnitude of 4.2 and a minimum magnitude of 1.2.
According to data from the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB), as of Sunday (27th November, 2022) this earthquake resulted in 321 people dead, 108 people seriously injured, 11 people missing, and 3,874 people at 325 evacuation sites refugees have arisen. This condition is a concern for the government and many parties, including Medion.
Medion also distributed assistance items in the form of food, sarongs and bed linens through the Medion Peduli Sesama programme.
