Medion Consistently Increases Egg Consumption

World Egg Day on October 8 was commemorated to raise public awareness of the importance of consuming eggs as a good source of animal protein for the body. Its protein content can help brain and muscle development and maintain eye health. In addition to protein, eggs are also an important source of choline to improve memory and maintain healthy nerve function.

However, eggs are still very rarely consumed in Indonesia. Based on data from the Central Statistics Agency, in 2020 the number of egg consumption by Indonesian people was only 280 eggs/capita/year. While Malaysia has reached 360 eggs/capita/year.

Seeing this, Medion has routinely carried out the Egg Eating Campaign since 2012 until now. The activity which aims to educate the public about the benefits of eating eggs through seminars and distributing ready-to-eat eggs is one of the manifestations of the Medion Health Care program. It is not only carried out at Posyandu but also at Elementary Schools (SD) in various cities in Indonesia, such as Bandung, Bandar Lampung, Denpasar, Makassar, Bogor, Solo, and Palu. During this pandemic, activities are still carried out online through the application zoom.

In addition, Medion regularly distributes eggs to workers to help maintain their health. To date, the total number of eggs distributed has reached 599,145.

Hopefully, the Medion Peduli Kesehatan program can reach more people so that egg consumption and community welfare increase.
