On May 31, 2024, Medion re-launched its poultry farming book titled "Chicken Disease Diagnosis Guidebook (Revised Edition)." The launch event was packaged as a virtual Book Review session and streamed live on Medion's Youtube, Facebook, and Instagram accounts. The first edition of the book was initially published in 2014. However, with the advancements in knowledge over the years, the book's content needed to be updated to remain relevant and current.
The Book Review session was moderated by Drh. Aditya Riyanto (Technical Education & Consultation, Medion) and began with a keynote speech from Dr. (H.C.), Apt., Drs. Jonas Jahja, Medion's Founder. This was followed by a talk show featuring Drh. Suwadi Hartono (Regional Manager, Medion) and Drh. Ch. Lilis Lestariningsih (Manager of Technical & Education Consultation, Medion), who are also the book's authors. The event also included a Q&A session, engaging participants in an interactive discussion.
The publication of this eight-chapter book signifies Medion's commitment to continuously contributing to education, particularly in poultry health management. This book aims to harmonize theory and practice in addressing disease cases in the field. The content focuses on effective disease management and preventive measures for future farming periods, ensuring optimal poultry health and productivity.
In addition to its attractive design and layout , the book also features engaging and standout chapters. For example, the chapters on "Clinical Symptoms" and "Pathological Changes in Chickens" include photos mostly taken by Medion's team while handling disease cases in the field, providing realistic depictions of poultry diseases.
Furthermore, the chapter on "Necropsy Process" explains the necessary preparations for conducting necropsy procedures. The chapter on "Laboratory Tests" covers various diagnostic tests, such as serology, molecular biology, parasitology, and other techniques to support disease diagnosis. Lastly, the "Case Studies" chapter offers practical examples from broiler and layer cases, illustrating how disease diagnosis is conducted in the field.In essence, this book provides a comprehensive, systematic, and practical guide to diagnosing poultry diseases.
The Revised Edition of the Chicken Disease Diagnosis Guidebook was also published as part of Medion’s 48th-anniversary celebration. Written in simple and straightforward language, the book aims to ensure that readers can easily comprehend the information provided.
